Alyssa began her fitness journey as a client of Coach Mallory in August of 2018. Alyssa had always been athletic but through graduate school her health and fitness had been on the back burner. Over the course of a year of working one-on-one with Coach Mallory she learned how to balance her nutrition and get adequate protein as a vegetarian. She lost over 50lbs and has kept that weight off since then.
Alyssa has been very active throughout her life. She has been weightlifting for over 10 years and enjoys the process of building muscle. She also practices yoga and dance. Alyssa loves the great outdoors: running, hiking, swimming, kayaking, and backpacking.
Coach Alyssa has a background in science with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a master’s degree in Environmental Science. She loves going through new fitness and nutrition research and figuring out how to apply it to her coaching techniques. Making sure her clients all have access to the latest and most effective techniques. With this strong background in science, she was excited to start her journey as a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach. Coach Alyssa has been working with Fit Life Academy for over a year and loves connecting with members to help them build science-backed, sustainable, healthy habits that they can use for a lifetime.
